Rock Vibrations Entrevista : Leaving Eden

Em uma oportunidade que novamente tivemos graças a assessoria Stencil PR (localizada no Reino Unido), entramos em contato com um grupo oriundo de Boston, com som acessível e também mesclado com peso.

Confira abaixo o nosso papo :

1 - Poderiam nos contar como iniciaram a banda?
R: Oi! Eu sou Eric Gynan, co-fundador da banda de Rock, Leaving Eden, da área de Boston (Mass New England).

Eu e Eva começamos o Leaving Eden.
Nós estávamos em uma banda antes do Leaving Eden.

Eu digo isso o tempo todo, mas foi depois que as primeiras 100 pessoas vieram até mim e me disseram como ela era ótima. Eu sabia que tinha que fazer algo sobre isso. Nós tínhamos um monte de músicas, então dissemos, vamos fazer isso.

Nós temos nos fortalecido desde que nunca tivemos um hiato.

2 - O single Jailbreak é muito bom, com melodias marcantes... Qual a inspiração para compor assim?
R: Bem, eu certamente aprecio isso. Primeiro nós mudamos a afinação para "dropar d" para podermos colocar as notas baixas lá.
Torna um pouco mais poderoso.

É legal você entender as melodias porque esse é um traço do Leaving Eden durante a maior parte da nossa música. Tinha que ser arranjado rapidamente quando estávamos em turnê no Arizona e recebemos a ligação para ir a Hollywood e nos encontrar no set de filmagens com o diretor de filmes Massimiliano Cerchi.

Na verdade, estávamos nos encontrando com uma música diferente e um filme diferente.

Então nós os vimos filmando o filme para um filme de jailbreak e eu conversei com Jeff Swanson em nossa gravadora e ele disse por que não Jailbreak por Thin Lizzy.

Então pensamos que era uma ótima idéia, e voamos para Chicago para gravar com Johhny K.
Ele é responsável pela mixagem e gravação.

Ele é um engenheiro premiado com prêmios Grammy, como o Disturbed, Pop Evil, 3 Doors Down, Staind Megadeth, e um grande amigo nosso.

Jailbreak não poderia estar no filme devido a certos problemas de licenciamento.

Conseguimos lançá-la como single em todo o mundo e será no nosso novo álbum "Descending" que será lançado em 19 de outubro em todo o mundo através da Dark Star Records / Sony Music.

Nós lançamos um single de Thin Lizzy chamado Jailbreak, (Gravado / mixado por Johnny K. (Perturbado, Pop Evil, Staind, 3 Portas Abaixo), Masterizado por Brad Blackwood (Sevendust, Dave Mathews, Adelitas, Korn) e Produzido por mim reinterpretado por Leaving Eden.

Jailbreak vai estar em nosso novo álbum a ser lançado em 19 de outubro de 2018 novamente chamado "Descending" através dos discos da Dark Star / Sony em todo o mundo.

4 - Ouvindo o álbum "Out of the Ashes" percebi uma ótima produção, além de melodias bem trabalhadas...
O próximo álbum de vocês será uma continuação natural?
R: Obrigado por isso, cara! Sim, Out of the Ashes novamente foi gravado por Johhny K. em Chicago. Nosso novo álbum "Descending" utilizamos uma abordagem diferente principalmente por causa do tempo Factor. É claro que quando você está no estúdio de outra pessoa, você não tem muito tempo.

Decidimos gravar este álbum ao sair do Eden’s Studio.

Conseguimos levar o tempo que quiséssemos para realmente criar este álbum. Acabei fazendo a pré-mixagem e produzindo o álbum e, em seguida, ele foi enviado para o nosso amigo Bob St John, que também é um engenheiro premiado com o Grammy.

Ele fez o Mix Final e dominou. Seus elogios incluem Steven Tyler, Extreme, Collective Soul, Duran Duran... então será o mesmo em termos de produção? Não, mas será tão bom? Sim!! Eu acho que soa bem!

Há muita melodia e harmonia, algumas músicas pesadas e algumas coisas acústicas. Há também batidas que você pode dançar! Eu acho que é uma continuação natural no que diz respeito às músicas.

5 - Vocês mantém uma regularidade interessante... Esse entrosamento surgiu naturalmente ou foi muito trabalho envolvido?
R: Eu acho que para cada álbum tudo muda em termos do que estou recebendo.

Eu realmente gosto de me comunicar com o universo quando se trata de escrever músicas, entrar em um estado meditativo e se comunicar ou em meus sonhos, quando eu sou capaz de acordar de uma música que está tocando em minha mente.

Este foi o caso da música Shallow Waters.

Eu fui capaz de acordar quando ouvi a música tocando em minha mente e estou tão feliz por ter feito isso, porque foi muito legal. Há muitas músicas perdidas e esquecidas porque não consigo acordar.
Mas eu acho que eles vão voltar.

É digno de nota dizer que o título do álbum Descending veio da música Shallow Waters no refrão, que repete as palavras descendo.

6 - Como devem saber, sou do Brasil, e digo a vocês que o som que fazem, certamente os metalheads daqui iriam aprovar... pensam um dia tocar na América do Sul?
R: Sim, isso é ótimo e estou feliz por isso.
Nós temos amigos na América do Sul que percorremos os EUA sobre a lagoa na Europa e no Canadá, mas não chegamos à América do Sul. Claro que gostaríamos de ir para lá. Deixe-me saber e nós vamos descer por algumas semanas! (risos)

7 - Gostariam de deixar um recado para finalizarmos?
R: Com certeza. As pessoas chamam de fãs, mas eu os chamo de amigos. Se não fosse pelos nossos amigos, simplesmente não teríamos nada.

Ninguém para ouvir a nossa música ninguém para vir aos nossos shows, então nós realmente devemos algum sucesso aos nossos amigos e estamos muito humildes com isso.

1 - Could you tell us how they started the band?
Hi! Sure Thing Man I'm Eric Gynan co-founder of the rock band Leaving Eden from the Boston Mass area New England.

Myself and Eve started Leaving Eden. We were in a band before leaving Eden. I say this all the time but it was after the first 100 people came up to me and told me how great she was. I knew that I had to do something about that.

We had a bunch of songs so we said let's do this. We've been going strong since never taking a hiatus whatsoever.

2 - The Jailbreak single is very good, with cool melodies ... What's the inspiration to compose like this?
Well I certainly appreciate that.
First we changed the tuning to drop d so we can get those low notes in there. Makes it a little more powerful. It's cool that you picked up on the melodies because that's one trait from leaving Eden throughout most of our music. It had to be arranged quickly as we were on tour in Arizona and we got the call to go to Hollywood and meet on set for movie with Movie Directer Massimiliano Cerchi.

We were actually meeting about a different song and a different movie. Then we saw them shooting the movie for a jailbreak movie and I talked to Jeff Swanson at our label and he said why not Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy. So we thought that was a great idea so we flew to Chicago to record with Johhny K.
He's responsible for the mix and recording.

He's a Grammy award-winning engineer with accolades such as Disturbed, Pop Evil, 3 Doors Down, Staind, Megadeth and a good friend of ours.

Jailbreak could not be in the movie due to certain licensing issues. We were able to release it as a single worldwide and it will be on our new album Descending coming out October 19th worldwide through Dark Star Records/Sony music.

We released a single from Thin Lizzy called Jailbreak, 

(Recorded/mixed By Johnny K. (Disturbed, Pop Evil, Staind, 3 Doors Down,) Mastered by Brad Blackwood (Sevendust, Dave Mathews, Adelitas way, Korn) and Produced by myself reinterpreted by Leaving Eden.

Jailbreak is going to be on our new album to be released October 19th 2018 again called Descending through Dark Star records/Sony music worldwide.

3 - What are the main influences of the band?
I think playing with some of the biggest bands in the world has definitely helped us to look listen and feel. 

We've definitely paid attention.

4 - Listening to the album "Out of the Ashes" I noticed a great production, besides well worked melodies ...

Will your next album be a natural continuation?
Thanks for that man. Yes out of the ashes album again was recorded by Johhny K. in Chicago. Our new album Descending we used a different approach primarily because of the time Factor. Of course when you're in somebody else's Studio you've only got so much time. 

We decided to record this album in leaving Eden’s Studio. We were able to take as much time as we wanted to really Craft This Album. I ended up doing the premix and producing the album and then it was sent off to our friend Bob St John who is also a Grammy award-winning engineer.

He did the Final Mix and mastering on it.

His accolades include Steven Tyler Extreme Collective Soul Duran Duran.  so will it be the same in terms of production? No, but will it be as good? Yes!! I think it sounds great!  There’s much Melody and harmony, some heavy tunes as well as some acoustic stuff.  There’s also beats you can dance to!  I think it is a natural continuation as far as the songs go.

5 - Do you maintain an interesting regularity ... Has this connection arose naturally or was much work involved?
I think for each album Everything Changes in terms of what I'm receiving. I really like to communicate with the universe when it comes to songwriting kind of get into a meditative state and communicate or in my dreams when I'm able to wake up from a song that's playing in my mind.

This was the case with the song Shallow Waters.

I was able to wake up when I heard the song playing in my mind and I'm so glad I did because it was very cool. There's a lot of songs lost and forgotten because I can't wake up. But I figure they'll come back. It's noteworthy to say by the way that the title of the album Descending came from the Shallow Waters song in the chorus which repeats the words descending.

6 - As you must know, I am from Brazil, and I tell you that the sound they make, the metalheads would certainly approve from here ... do you ever think of playing in South America?
Yes that's great and I'm happy for that. We do have friends in South America we have toured the USA over the pond in Europe and in Canada but have not made it to South America.

Of course we would love to go there. Let me know and we will come down for a couple weeks lol!

7 - Would you like to leave a message to finish?
Sure thing. People call them fans but I call them friends. If it weren't for our friends we simply would have nothing. No one to listen to our music no one to come to our shows so we really owe any success to our friends and we're very humbled by that.
