entrevistas, cada vez mais a opinião de diversos músicos nos interessou e mostrou o quanto estávamos certos em poder buscar novas visões, indagações, curiosidades, dentre muitos outros assuntos.

A simpática e adorável Fabienne Erni sempre foi uma das minhas opções para trazer as páginas da Rock Vibrations, e esse dia chegou; meus amigos!
Uma conversa leve, agradável e com alguns detalhes sobre sua carreira; planos, experiência após ingressar no Eluveitie, além de seu projeto, "Illumishade" que logo estará com um álbum disponível para nós admiradores de seu trabalho.

1 - Para começar, gostaria que você falasse sobre sua carreira, considero como uma das vocalistas mais expressivas da atualidade, unindo técnica, tons acessíveis e agradáveis, além de muito talento envolvido em diferentes áreas.
Como foi seu primeiro contato com a música e quais seriam suas maiores influências?
Fabi : Olá, primeiro de tudo: Muito obrigada por me receber! E obrigada por suas amáveis palavras, isso significa muito!
Eu sempre gostei de cantar, mas entrei aos 14 anos, tive minhas primeiras aulas de canto aos 15 anos e desde então soube que queria que a música fizesse parte da minha vida!
Alguns dos meus maiores ídolos são Eva Cassidy e Whitney Houston. Também escutei muito o Teatro Musical - músicas e músicas da Disney!

2 - Sem dúvida, ter recebido o convite para ingressar no Eluveitie foi algo muito benéfico profissionalmente, além de abrir uma infinidade de oportunidades para mostrar seu valor na música.
O contato ocorreu rapidamente para sua inserção na formação deles - você tinha uma indicação de um dos novos membros na época, certo? Acredito que isso tenha deixado você um pouco nervosa ou com medo da oportunidade, o que seria natural.
Fabi : Lembro-me muito bem do dia - 1º de setembro - quando Jonas me ligou e me disse que o Eluveitie estava procurando um novo cantor e que talvez eu pudesse enviar uma demo minha cantando uma música do Eluveitie!
Eu pensei que seria bom receber algum feedback de uma banda tão incrível, mas não achei que eles realmente me escolheriam e que eu aceitaria o desafio! Mas eles fizeram - e eu fiz!

3 - "Ategnatos" é um álbum muito bem elaborado e mostra uma certa segurança em sua execução.
O fato de você começar a tocar harpa mudou a maneira como viu a melodia que poderia produzir para a banda? Sou músico (toco violão, guitarra, baixo, violoncelo) e sei o quanto nossa percepção muda de acordo com os novos recursos.
Fabi : Eu amo trazer um pouco de "magia" com minha harpa para as músicas e estou muito feliz com as partes que recebi para a harpa. Eu aprendi muito no estúdio sobre a harpa.
Ela sempre amplia seu horizonte ao aprender outro instrumento e também a maneira de ouvir e olhar a música pode mudar!

4 - Um dos pontos mais altos do Eluveitie são os shows, afinal, encontramos uma variedade de instrumentos combinados com o ótimo Metal que vocês tocam.
Você se adaptou rapidamente durante as apresentações ou precisou de tempo para ajustar suas melodias e idéias com a dinâmica diante do público?
Fabi : É exatamente o que eu amo no Eluveitie - o metal combinado com o folk.
Eu absolutamente amo cantar as músicas e sinto que encontrei meu lugar seguro com elas!
Adoro cantar músicas mais pesadas, mas também mais leves. E é claro, especialmente no começo, eu estava ficando nervosa e ainda estou agora!
Mas eu aprendo em todos os shows e aprendo a lidar com a minha voz, aprendo sobre como me conectar com o público e muito mais!
5 - Em "Evocation II" pude sentir uma grande vibração e certamente isso é um reflexo dos novos integrantes e da nova fase, a inclusão de elementos novos e claros; sua estréia.
"Epona", por exemplo, é uma música muito boa que demonstra a qualidade de uma nova era para a banda.
O que você lembra daquela época, conseguiu expressar todas as suas idéias desde o início?
Fabi : Eu aprendi muito desde que entrei no Eluveitie, como musicista e também pessoalmente!
Lembro-me de como estava nervosa por gravar a primeira música com Tommy Vetterli!
Mas imediatamente me senti muito confortável, adoro trabalhar com Tommy e ele me leva ao meu melhor desempenho!
Chrigel me deixa muito espaço para a minha interpretação vocal, o que eu realmente amo!
E ele se conecta à minha maneira de construir a minha história em torno dela e tentar expressar emoções diferentes. Somos uma boa equipe!

6 - Todo músico busca atingir um pico criativo, a fim de exacerbar ao máximo suas idéias, atingir um grande número de pessoas ...
Você se considera no seu auge? Sei o quanto você é dedicada em sua carreira e imagino que você deva estudar muito para evoluir constantemente.
Fabi : Ah, não, estou longe do meu pico! Acabei de começar agora (risos)!
Quero dizer, a cada show, fico mais experiente e aprendo mais sobre mim e também como musicista!

7 - O Illumishade é um ótimo projeto que merece a atenção de todos, principalmente pela qualidade de suas melodias, além de ter uma produção maravilhosa nas faixas lançadas.
Quais foram os principais fatores para o seu início?
Vejo que existem muitos elementos conceituais e isso é muito positivo.
Fabi : Na verdade, tudo começou porque eu estava terminando meu mestrado em uma escola de música e minha tarefa era formar uma banda e fazer um show!
Fiz uma parceria com Jonas e alguns dos meus colegas de classe e conseguimos! Todos nós ficamos viciados nele - e o empurramos até aqui onde estamos agora!
É curioso para onde está indo este projeto!
É muito divertido e estou muito feliz por termos começado!
O que eu amo sobre isso é que é um playground criativo para todos nós, além do mundo conceitual, adoro histórias e mundos de fantasia! Isso me inspira tanto, eu já tenho várias idéias para os próximos álbuns (risos)!
8 - O novo álbum está sendo produzido e certamente alcançará muitos fãs de Metal, mas o que podemos esperar dessas 8 faixas? Será conceitual, certo?
Podemos saber algumas coisas sobre produção e tópicos abordados? (Eu não me importo com spoilers haha)
Fabi : Espero que muitas pessoas gostem tanto quanto nós! É uma sensação tão especial revelar um primeiro álbum com a nossa banda e estou super empolgada com isso! É uma loucura quanto esforço, tempo, trabalho, amor e paixão se coloca nele!
Como referi anteriormente, queremos que este projeto seja um playground onde a criatividade flua e onde não haja fronteiras.
Cada membro vem com influências diferentes e coloca idéias no pote e nós simplesmente cozinhamos!
É incrível fazer parte disso e construir um novo projeto e vê-lo crescer! Um aspecto importante neste projeto são os contrastes, como você já pode ver em nosso nome de banda. Deixamos muito espaço aberto - para baladas, mas também para músicas mais difíceis.

9 - Alguns vídeos foram lançados e foram incríveis, muito bem produzidos.
Conte-nos como você obteve esses resultados e mais, pretende fazer mais em breve?
Fabi : Temos a sorte e a honra de trabalhar com um bom amigo nosso, Jens de Vos (pandaproductions.be), da Bélgica! Ele é um cara de cinema tão talentoso (e músico também!) E trabalhar com ele foi a melhor coisa para nós!
Ele traz tantas idéias e muita criatividade para o nosso grupo - nós definitivamente queremos trabalhar mais com ele!

10 - Qual é a sua música favorita e o que lhe deu mais
trabalho para compor e colocar suas idéias principais? Meu, sem dúvida, é "Fim do Mundo", não sai da minha lista de reprodução, acho incrível.
Fabi : Oh, muito obrigada! Tão feliz em ouvir você curtir o nosso primeiro single!
É tão difícil escolher um favorito! Quando você está lá, vendo-os crescer - é quase impossível escolher um! Cada uma delas tem sua própria história, maneira de se desenvolver. Seria ruim escolher um (risos)!

11 - O mercado fonográfico atual tem sido expressivo em plataformas de streaming, bem como em séries e filmes, facilitando o acesso do público em qualquer lugar do mundo.
Muitos de nós amantes do rock, como o material físico das bandas, produtos variados ... e isso tem sido problemático nos últimos anos, diminuindo a demanda.
Em 2019, as vendas de LPs aumentaram nos EUA (superando a de CDs), no entanto, uma das duas únicas fábricas existentes pegou fogo (perdendo muita matéria-prima) e pode resultar em problemas para as bandas que aspiram a esse formato.
O que você acha necessário para as bandas convencer os fãs a comprar material? O streaming será capaz de suportá-lo?
Fabi : Essa é uma das coisas maravilhosas da nossa comunidade de metal: nesse gênero, as pessoas realmente apreciam um CD físico e também outras coisas como camisas! Tenho orgulho de fazer parte disso. O apoio nesta família de metal é único!
12 - Existe a possibilidade da Illumishade vir para o Brasil?
Fabi : Oh, nós adoraríamos! Vamos ver o que o futuro traz, mas gostaríamos muito de visitar seu lindo país!
13 - Antes de terminar, quero saber como está sua rotina após os problemas que estamos enfrentando com a pandemia que vem causando interrupções em todo o mundo.
Isso afetará muitas coisas planejadas?
Fabi : A situação no momento é realmente muito difícil e também muito imprevisível!
Tivemos que adiar nossa turnê pela Rússia com o Eluveitie e já tivemos alguns cancelamentos de festivais.
Talvez mais se seguirão... também nossa apresentação com o ILLUMISHADE no dia 22 de maio está em grande perigo, mas estamos trabalhando em soluções diferentes!
Nestes tempos, temos que levá-lo dia a dia e também ser criativo e encontrar outra maneira de trazer nossa arte ao mundo e nos manter ocupados!

In these 3 years and 8 months of existence we had many interviews, more and more the opinion of several musicians interested us and showed how we were right to be able to search for new views, questions, curiosities, among many other subjects.
The friendly and lovely Fabienne Erni has always been one of my options for bringing the pages of Rock Vibrations, and that day has come; my friends!
A pleasant conversation with some details about your career; plans, experience after joining Eluveitie, in addition to his project, "Illumishade" which will soon have an album available to us admirers of his work.
Some of the questions were asked by me (Vinny) and also our editor (Anne Angels).
1 - To start, I would like you to talk about your career, I consider you as one of the most expressive vocalists today, uniting technique, accessible and pleasant tones, in addition to a lot of talent involved in different areas.
How was your first contact with music and what would be your biggest influences?
Fabi : Hello, first of all: Thank you so much for having me! And thank you for your kind words, it means a lot!
I always liked singing, but I got really into it when I was around 14, I had my first singing lessons when I was around 15 and from then on I just knew that I want music to be a big part in my life!
Some of my biggest idols are Eva Cassidy and Whitney Houston.

2 - Undoubtedly, having received the invitation to join Eluveitie was something very professionally beneficial, in addition to opening up a multitude of opportunities to show your value in music.
The contact occurred quickly for your insertion in their line-up - you had an indication of one of the new members at the time, right? I believe that this made you a little nervous or afraid of the opportunity, which would be natural.
Fabi : I remember the day very well - 1st of September - when Jonas called me and told me that Eluveitie is looking for a new singer and that maybe I could send in a demo of me singing an Eluveitie-Song!
I thought, getting some feedback from such an amazing band would be good, but I didn't think that they would actually choose me and that I would accept the challenge! But they did - and I did! ;-)
So here I am haha! And I am loving it! I am so grateful to be part of this wonderful band and I am looking forward to everything that will come!

3 - "Ategnatos" is an album very well elaborated and shows a certain security in its execution.
Did the fact that you started playing the harp change the way you saw the melody you could produce for the band? I'm a musician (I play guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, cello) and I know how much our perception changes according to new features.
Fabi : I love to bring some "magic" with my harp to the songs and I am very happy with the parts I got for the harp. I learned a lot in the studio about the harp.

4 - One of the highest points of Eluveitie are the shows, after all, we find a variety of instruments combined with the great Metal they perform.
Did you adapt quickly during the presentations or did you need time to fit your melodies and ideas with the dynamics in front of the audience?
Fabi : This is exactly what I love about Eluveitie - the metal combined with folk. I absolutely love to sing the songs and I feel like I found my safe place with them! :-)
I love to sing harder songs, but also softer ones. And of course, especially in the beginning, I was freaking nervous and I still am now!
But I learn at every concert and learn how to handle my voice, learn about how to connect with the audience and much more!

5 - In "Evocation II" I could feel a great vibe and certainly this is a reflection of the members and the new phase, the inclusion of new and clear elements; your debut.
"Epona" for example is a very good song that demonstrates the quality of a new era for the band.
What do you remember from that time, were you able to express all your ideas from the beginning?
Fabi : I learned so much since joining Eluveitie, for me as a musician and also for me personally! I remember how nervous I was to record the very first song with Tommy Vetterli! But immediately I felt very comfortable, I love working with Tommy and he pushes me just right to my best performance!
Chrigel leaves me a lot of space for my vocal interpretation, what I really love! And he connects to my way of how I build my story around it and try to express different emotions. We are a good team! :-)

6 - Every musician aims to reach a creative peak in order to exacerbate his ideas to the maximum, reach a high number of people ...
Do you consider yourself at your peak? I know how dedicated you are in your career, and I imagine that you must study hard to constantly evolve.
Fabi : Oh, nonooo, I am far from my peak! I just got started now haha! I mean, with every concert I get more experienced and learn more about myself and me as a musician!

7 - Illumishade is a great project that deserves everyone's attention, mainly because of the quality of its melodies, in addition to having a wonderful production on its released tracks.
What were the main factors for its beginning?
I see that there are many conceptual elements and that is very positive.
Fabi : Actually, everything started because I was finishing my master-degree at a music-highschool and my task was to form a band and play a concert!
I teamed up with Jonas and some of my classmates and we did it! We all got hooked on it - and pushed it until here where we are now! Curious to where it is going with this project! It is so much fun and I am so happy we started it!
What I love about it is that it is a creative playground for all of us, plus the concept world, I love fantasy stories and worlds! It inspires me so much, I already have a bunch of new ideas for upcoming albums haha!

Tell us about how you got those results and more, do you intend to do more soon?
Fabi : We have the luck and honor to work with a good friend of us, Jens de Vos (pandaproductions.be) from Belgium!
He is such a talented filmguy (and musician too!) and working with him was the best thing for us! He brings so many ideas and so much creativity into our group - we definitely want to work more with him!

10 - What is your favorite song and what gave you the most work to compose and put your main ideas in? My undoubtedly is "World's End", it doesn't leave my playlist, I think it's incredible.

11 - The current phonographic market has been expressive in streaming platforms, as well as that of series and films, facilitating public access anywhere in the world.
Many of us lovers of rock like the physical material of the bands, varied products ... and this has been problematic in recent years, decreasing the demand.
In 2019 sales of LPs increased in the USA (surpassing that of CDs), however, one of the only two existing factories caught fire (losing a lot of raw material) and could result in problems for the bands that aspire to this format.
What do you think is necessary for bands to convince fans to purchase material? Will streaming be able to support it?
Fabi : This is one of the wonderful things in our metal-community: In this genre, the people really appreciate a physic CD and also other stuff like shirts!

12 - Is there a possibility that Illumishade will come to Brazil?
Fabi : Oh, we would absolutely love to!

13 - Before we finish, I want to know how your routine is going after the problems we are facing with the pandemic that has been causing stoppages around the world.
Will this affect many things planned?
Fabi : The situation at the moment is indeed very hard and also very unpredictable! We had to postpone our Russia Tour with Eluveitie and already got some festival-cancellations.
Maybe more will follow... Also our releaseshow with ILLUMISHADE on 22nd of May is in great danger, but we are working on different solutions!
In these times we have to take it day by day and also be creative and find another way to bring our art to the world and stay busy!
