No início deste ano de 2020, muito antes de imaginarmos uma pandemia, acabei divulgando a Era Of Ephemeris em nossas páginas, foi uma descoberta muito legal e que eu senti que deveria repassar para os nossos leitores.
Resenhei "Among The Stars", virei um fã do trabalho desses ótimos músicos suecos e, 9 meses após isso, estamos aqui para divulgar uma conversa que tivemos.

1 - Como tem sido esses tempos com a pandemia global? espero que todos estejam bem por aí.
Bem, este ano tem sido muito difícil para todos ..
Em nosso país, como vocês puderam ouvir nas notícias, não tínhamos um bloqueio, mas estamos seguindo os mesmos regulamentos que todos os outros países ... Estamos seguros, espero que vocês também estejam.
2 - A primeira vez que tive contato com a banda pude perceber muitas influências e ótimas melodias, além de vocais cativantes. Na sua região foi possível se inspirar em muitas coisas para a criação da banda?
A criação da banda foi na verdade um “acidente”. Urban Granbacke (o fundador do EOE) teve alguma ajuda para instalar seu novo software de gravação. Quando o amigo fazia a parte técnica, Urban tocava violão para ver se o computador estava captando sinal. Urban estava apenas improvisando e achou um dos riffs que estava tocando soando bem legal.
Esse riff foi o início do que viria a ser a música “When a leaf falls” do álbum de estreia “Between the stars”. Depois dessa música, ele fez mais algumas músicas e decidiu começar uma nova banda. E então, como dizem, o resto é história. Mas a Suécia, onde vivemos, tem uma enorme vantagem que, infelizmente, nem todos os países têm, que é a liberdade de expressão. Isso torna muito mais fácil para nós criarmos música sem ter nenhum limite ... além de nossa própria falta de imaginação.
3 - Você recentemente lançou seu novo single ("Secret Garden") e senti uma certa dedicação e comprometimento, soa muito bom e criativo. Fale sobre essa ótima música, por favor ...
Queríamos levar nossa música para “o próximo nível”. Queríamos que essa música soasse quase como um conto de fadas, mas com elementos bombásticos. Ainda assim, não queríamos mudar muito “nosso som”.
Em nossa mente, nosso álbum de estreia “Between the stars” e “Secret garden” tem a mesma base no som, apenas um pensamento mais detalhado e habilidades de escrita aprimoradas e diferenciadas.
Quando Rossana ouviu a primeira demo da música, ficou imediatamente inspirada e em sua mente surgiu a imagem do jardim secreto ... um lugar íntimo e especial onde cada um de nós pode realizar nossos sonhos e desenvolver nossas paixões ...
4 - "Among The Stars" foi um dos primeiros álbuns que fiz Review em 2020 (em janeiro) e me chamou a atenção pelo fato de sua dinâmica ser muito boa, elementos necessários para uma grande banda. Conte-nos sobre isso e como você chegou a essa grande produção, devo dizer também que a arte da capa ficou linda.
Além da introdução e do final, todas as músicas têm a mesma base. Um som muito rítmico. Bateria groovy onde as guitarras e o baixo seguem o bumbo. Essa parte é da cena death metal melódica. Os instrumentos orquestrais são obviamente de música clássica.
Todas as melodias, independentemente do instrumento, são inspiradas no rock dos anos 80. Os vocais são inspirados nos sentimentos que a música desperta, e é sempre diferente de acordo com as emoções que a música transmite ... Então todas as músicas têm seu toque único.
Urban (guitarra, teclado, baixo) tem um estilo de tocar / ideias quase heterodoxo para música. Ele faz todas as idéias básicas para as músicas. Normalmente ele tem um tema / história / sentimento que deseja contar apenas com os instrumentos.
Christian Nielsen (bateria) tem uma maneira realmente groovy / técnica de tocar que adiciona muito ao sentimento de cada música. Ele faz o que é melhor para a música, não seu ego.
Os solos de Emil Alatalo (guitarra) realmente se destacam e colocam a música em outro nível.
Rossana Cavallotto com sua voz poderosa e grande mente lírica torna as músicas o melhor que podem ser.
Johan Svanlund-Karlsson (JSK Audio) disse que a mixagem / masterização em “Between the stars” é de um engenheiro de som incrível, então foi realmente fácil fazê-lo entender que som estávamos indo.
A capa de “Among The Stars” foi pintada à mão por Matteo Davico (também conhecido como Teonius). Ele também fez a capa de “Secret Garden”. Ele é um artista incrível que também tem seu próprio estúdio de tatuagem.
Você deveria dar uma olhada nele!
5 - Ter uma voz feminina facilita a criação de melodias ou você gosta de trabalhar com pensamentos diferentes?
Por exemplo, existem bandas que gravam melodias vocais apenas no final da música feita, mas acho que muito do que é criado precisa ser baseado nas vozes, até para o fã ter identificação, né.
Bom, a gente não tem “jeito único de escrever música”. Algumas canções estrelam com a música, outras com melodias vocais e algumas com as letras.
As canções que começam com a música, como dissemos anteriormente, Urban tem uma ideia para um tema / história / sentimento. Ele faz as idéias básicas para as músicas e todos os outros jogam idéias para frente e para trás até que as partes instrumentais estejam prontas, então Rossana faz as melodias vocais para que se encaixem na voz dela.
Nas canções que começam com melodias vocais, os outros instrumentos obviamente têm que se ajustar de acordo com os vocais. E então as músicas que começam com as letras, bem ... é diferente como fazemos.
6 - Quais são os próximos planos que você pretende trazer?algo diferente para o seu público nos próximos meses? Temos algumas ideias sobre o que fazer nos próximos meses, mas manteremos isso em segredo até mais tarde. Nós começamos a planejar nosso próximo lançamento, mas infelizmente não tenho detalhes que possa compartilhar mais do que espero que no próximo verão / outono o possamos lançar.
7 - Antes de terminar, gostaria de saber se você gosta de alguma banda do Brasil ou se pensa em tocar na América do Sul um dia ... Temos fãs loucos por Rock.

At the beginning of this year 2020, long before we imagined a pandemic, I ended up publicizing the Era Of Ephemeris on our pages, it was a very cool discovery and one that I felt I should pass on to our readers.
I reviewed "Among The Stars", I became a fan of the work of these great Swedish musicians and, 9 months after that, we are here to publicize a conversation we had.

1 - How have these days been with the global pandemic? I hope everyone is well out there.
Well this year has been really hard for the everyone..In our country as you could hear in the news we didn't have a lockdown but we are following pretty the same regulations as every other country...We are safe, hope you are too
2 - The first time I had contact with the band I could see many influences and great melodies, as well as captivating vocals. In your region was it possible to be inspired by many things for the creation of the band?
The creation of the band was actually an “accident”. Urban Granbacke (the founder of EOE) had some help installing his new recording software. When his friend was doing the technical part, Urban was playing the guitar to see if the computer was getting any signal.
Urban was just improvising and found one of the riffs he was playing sounding quite cool. That riff was the start of what would become the song “When a leaf falls” from the debut album “Among the stars”. After that song he did a few more songs and decided to start a new band. And then, as they say, the rest is history.
But Sweden, where we live, have a HUGE advatage that unfortunately not every coutry have is freedom of speach. That makes it so much easier for us to create music without having any boundaries...other then our own lack imagination.
3 - You recently released your newest single ("Secret Garden") and I felt a certain dedication and commitment, it sounds very good and creative.
Talk about this great song please ...
We wanted to take our music to “the next level”. We wanted this song to almost sound like a fairytale but with bombastic elements. Still, we did not want to change “our sound” too much. In our mind our debut album “Among the stars” and “Secret garden” have the same foundation in the sound, just a more thought through details and improved and different writing skills.
When Rossana listened to the first demo of the song she was immediately inspired and in her mind came up the secret garden image...an intimate and special place where everyone of us can realize our dreams and grow our passions...
4 - "Among The Stars" was one of the first albums I did Review in 2020 (in January) and it caught my attention because of its dynamics being very good, necessary elements for a great band.
Tell us about it and how did you get to this great production? I must also say that the cover art was beautiful.
Aside from the intro and the outro, all songs have the same foundation. A very rythmic sound. Groovy drums where the guitars and bass follow the kick drums. That part are from the melodic death metal scene. The orchestral instruments are obviously from clasical music.
All melodies, no matter what instrument, are inspired from the 80s rock. The vocals are inspired by the feelings the music arouses, and it's always different according to the emotions the music conveys...
So all the songs have their unique touch.
Urban (guitar, keyboard, bass) have almost an unorthodox playing style/ideas for music. He does all the basic ideas for the songs. Usually he has a theme/story/feeling that he wants to tell with just the instruments.
Christian Nielsen (drums) has a really groovy/technicaly way of playing which adds a lot to the feeling of each song.
He does what is best for the song, not his ego. Emil Alatalo´s (guitar) solos really stands out and put´s the song to another level.
Rossana Cavallotto with her powerful voice and great lyrical mind makes the songs the best they can be.
Johan Svanlund-Karlsson (JSK Audio) that the mixing/mastering on “Among the stars” is a incredible sound enginer, so it was really easy to make him understand what sound we where going for.
The cover for “Among the stars” was hand painted by Matteo Davico (aka Teonius). He also did the cover for “Secret garden”. He is an amazing artist that also has his own tattoo studio. You should check him out!
5 - Having a female voice makes it easy to create melodies or do you like to work with different thoughts? For example, there are bands that record vocal melodies only at the end of insturmental, but I think a lot of what is created needs to be based on the voices, even for the fan to have identification, right?
Well, we don´t have a “one way of writing music”. Some songs starst with the music, others with vocal melodies and some with the lyrics.
The songs that start with the music, as we said earlier, Urban has an idea for a theme/story/feeling.
He makes the basic ideas for the songs and all the others throw ideas back and forth until the instrumental parts are done, then Rossana does the vocal melodies so it fits her voice.
In the songs that start with vocal melodies the other instruments obviously have to adjust according to the vocals.
And then the songs that starts with the lyrics, well...it´s different how we proceed.
6 - What are the next plans? do you intend to bring something different to your audience in the coming months?
We have a few ideas what to do within the next few months, but we keep that as a secret till later on. We do have started to plan our next release but unfortunately I have no details that I can share more then hopefully next summer/autumn we will release it.
7 - Before we finish, I want to know if you like any band from Brazil or if you think of playing in South America one day ... We have crazy fans for Rock.
Of course we know bands/artists from Brazil! Brazil have many great musicians. Who does not know about Sepultura or Krisiun? The mighty André Matos (R.I.P).
There are too many to be named!
