Through the partnership with Rogue PR we bring a new interview for you, the reader.
Check out our conversation with Max from MYOSOTIS.
1 - How did you start the band?
Kilian our Lead singer kinda pulled the strings together here. We all came from a different background. Myself for example just got back to Germany and moved to Hamburg. I departed my old band and just updated my profile on a local musicians website and because of that he texted me an enormous mail with his very detailed vision for the band, we had a phone call after that and then hit it off at our first jam session and never looked back.
2 - Can the current moment be considered the best of the band?
I really hope that we haven´t hit our ceiling yet haha. The release of WHAT IF.. is definitely the starting point of a new era for the band and we couldn´t be prouder of what we worked on the last 2 years, but that said, we really hope to take off from here and present our music to a wider audience.
3 - What would you say about sonority? Where else do you fit into the acquired influences?
Our sound is developing from all the different musical background within the band. We´re definitely not just Metal. There a large part that is to be found in Jazz, Progressive, Goth or even Pop.
4 - Speaking of creation process, how much thought is there before creating new material? Is there a plan or do you let ideas flow naturally?
It is a mix between the two actually. We´re all within the big flow, we call life and I´m trying to pay close attention to things that happen around me naturally. This is my main source of inspiration and I´m always eager to include them in our music to keep it authentic and emotional. But there´s also planning and preparation necessary to transfer your inspiration into something real.
5 - Have you ever thought of playing here in South America? Audiences in Brazil are very passionate about music!
Absolutely! We´re 90´s kids and grew up with bands like Sepultura, Soulfly or Krisiun and they still remain to be an influence to our music.
Within South America, Brazil is the holy ground of Metal, so to set foot on it and pay our tribute to a country filled with passionate Metal Heads would be incredible!
6 - We know that the music market is no longer the same ... what does it take to stay fresh and relevant?
Persistence. It has never been easier to publish and distribute your music around the world, that could nevertheless make it harder for people to discover you, especially when there´s just soooo much good music out there. You need to be persistent and interact with your fans on a regular basis. Let them be part of your life, because in the end they are the ones who help you to fulfil your dream too.
7 - Do you like the idea of releasing videos in lyric format?
We do. In fact we released already a lyric video and we´re planning on doing it more often. Let´s face it: Nothing beats a full on video production, but lyric videos opened up a new artisctic way to show your music to the world on a smaller budget, and that gives a great opportunity for musicians to collaborate with visual artists and have their own Music video even when they´re just starting out.
8 - We finish here, the space is yours ...
Thanks for taking the time and checking us out guys.
We hope you all stay healthy in these crazy times.
